Blogmas Day Two / Guest Post About Journaling Prompts for the Holiday Season

Hello, dears! Today, for the second day of Blogmas, we have a guest post from Heidi! I think you all will love what she’s written; I know I did! And so, without further ado, here’s Heidi’s post! Be sure to check out her blog when you get a chance! ❤

Hello! It’s Heidi from Heidi Lane! Thank you, Liesl, for allowing me to guest post on your blog while you are doing Blogmas!

If you don’t know me, then you probably wouldn’t know that I like to use a bullet journal and I like to journal when I go on trips. Sometimes I’ll use some journal prompts to get my creative juices going whenever I need to write a creative writing piece. In short, I love to journal and plan. AND I love all things stationery (but that’s beside the point). Thus, I thought it would be fitting to write about journal prompts for the holiday season. You can go as in depth as you would like with these.

Questions/Reflection:

  1. What was my favorite holiday tradition as a child?
  2. What do I want to do this holiday season?
  3. Is my heart prepared to celebrate Christ’s birth?
  4. What do I want to get [insert name] for Christmas?
  5. What am I thankful for?
  6. What would I get for my friends and family if money wasn’t a problem?
  7. What do the holidays mean to me?
  8. What did I learn from this past year?
  9. What do I want to do next year?
  10. What is your favorite holiday decoration? Why?
  11. What does giving mean to me?

Prompts/Creative:

  1. Write a poem about your typical Christmas morning and then write a poem about how your Christmas morning actually went.
  2. Write a story about a snowman.
  3. Describe your ideal holiday movie or book.
  4. Illustrate a holiday song.
  5. Write out your favorite holiday quotes/lyrics in a variety of lettering.

Hopefully you got a little bit of inspiration for your journal out of these. Thanks for allowing me to post Liesl! Happy Holidays!
